Introducing the DSP004: a Panel Mount LED Dot Matrix Intelligent Character Display

We are aggressively pursuing this niche market for panel mount intelligent LED Dot matrix displays with features designed to save you time and money up front.

How? For one thing, there is no need to contact or hire an IT specialist to write driver code. With Pronto LED displays, all you need is a USB Virtual COM Port adaptor and freeware Serial Terminal Emulator software, and you are all set for accessing the built-in No-Code menu. Use the Menu to set up the baud rate, EOL terminator, scrolling features and brightness modes. You can even make custom characters with the Menu. Once configured, you can integrate into your system by simply providing power and inputting +5V TTL/UART with ASCII encoding for the message data signals.

If you are purchasing large numbers, you can bypass the Menu programming and electronically program all of the settings to the on-board EEPROM.

Additionally, our displays feature an integrated ambient light sensor that adjusts display brightness automatically to compensate for ambient light conditions- which you can adjust or change. Additional brightness modes you may select include Fixed Brightness or External PWM.

Mounting the display in your panel requires four mounting holes and a rectangular cutout. For extra convenience, we have made your panel fabrication easier by providing a template file with the mounting holes and panel cutout already included. This file can serve as a starting point for your own front panel design. It can be used with the Front Panel Designer software, which is available from Front Panel Express: www.frontpanelexpress.com
